Oscar Party Smoothie

Oscar Party Smoothie

I made this smoothie last week and it has been on my mind ever since. It’s just one of those recipes that sticks with you.  Maybe it’s the fact that it took me about 1 hour to make (which is a record long time in my world of smoothie-making), or maybe it’s because each layer is made with nutrient-rich ingredients that come together in such a perfectly sweet way making it the ultimate treat to enjoy while watching Leo win his Oscar tomorrow night.

The dates in this recipe make it more of a desert than something you can really enjoy first thing in the morning – It’s a little too sweet for me, but that’s just my opinion. It’s my version of a smoothie I found on @papaya_sunshine’s Instagram account.

Layers of dreams!

  • 4 soft pitted medjool dates
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 large banana

  • 1/2 cup almond & coconut milk
  • 1 banana sliced

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients except last banana to blender and blend.
  2. Pour over Oat mix in both mason jars.
  3. Layer with another 2 tbsp of Oat Mix.
  4. Add sliced banana to the sides of the mason jar.

  • 2 tbsp Cocoa Powder by Camino

  4. Enjoy!

Trust me, this masterpiece will make you feel like you’re holding a little gold statue.
